Answer:

P(A) = 8/15

P(B) = 1/3

Explanation:

There are 15 tickets in the box and one ticket is drawn at random from the box

∴ S = { 1 , 2 , 3 , ... , 15 }

∴ n(S) = 15

Let A be the event of getting a card that shows an odd number

∴ A = { 1 , 3 , 5 , 7 , 9 , 11 , 13 , 15 }

∴ n(A) = 8

P(A) = n(A)/n(S) = 8/15

Let B be the event of getting a number which is a multiple of 3

∴ B = { 3 , 6 , 9 , 12 , 15 }

∴ n(B) = 5

P(B) = n(B)/n(S) = 5/15 = 1/3
