3. Two boats move with constant velocities on a wide river. The flow velocity of the
river is constant, uniform and parallel to the shoreline. The given figure is an
aerial photo, which gives the top view of the situation at an instant of time. The
position of one of the boats is marked with a square and the other with a
triangle. The stars represent position of litter fallen from the boat. One of the
boats departed from the point A.
