In recent years, there has been significant work in integrating physical activity into video games. One goal of this work has been to help motivate sedentary people to be more physically active. Konami's Dance Dance Revolution and Nintendo's Wii Sports have shown that exercise games can be both fun and commercially successful. To date, however, there has been little attempt to investigate what properties of exercise games will help motivate sedentary people to start and continue exercise programs. This paper reviews the literature on exercise motivation and derives from it requirements for computer-aided exercise games. Traditional games are one of the most entertaining activities that benefit body as well as mind in several ways.

- Traditional Indian games like Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Skipping, Langadi, Sagar-gote & several others do not need costly play equipment, nor any uniform or special shoes & accessories needed; all people need is play & space for them to play.
- Many traditional sports have been played outside and require a great deal of physical activity. Such physical activity is known to be very health-beneficial. You inhale a lot of natural air and clean oxygen when playing outdoors. This increases the metabolism & health of an individual. Since most of the games are played outdoors, one mingles with nature or natural environment. This positively impacts one’s health to a great extent.
- Traditional Indian games are realistic "extension of yoga". In Yoga, there are about 8 sections. Of which 3 emphasis on physical well-being, the senses enhancement, the body strengthening & balanced. Generally, traditional games helps in all the three and thus keeps the body fit.
- While fitness goals are not just about keeping our body fit, it also includes keeping our mind fit. A healthy mind leads to a healthy body. traditional games keeps our mind healthy in various ways
- Traditional sports have also put together children to promote teamwork (leads to a conflict-free situation) and social interaction (interaction is the key to relieve one's stress) both are essential for healthy mind. Many traditional games necessitates agility such as running to leaping as well as enhances movement and the synchronization of the "eye-hand". Unit games such as Kho-Kho & Kabaddi allow children to build the strategies to defeat their opponent & solve their differences & conflicts.
- It is important to educate our children about our culture, tradition, & heritage as well as to educate them modern concepts. It is important that they learn and feel pride in their heritage. Children will interact with their roots by way of playing traditional Indian games & it will have a profound positive effect on their lives.
- The family is similar to conventional sports, with better links. Kids require organized playtime and standard games can be a perfect social experience for all. Across all other facets of life, children that have stable family connections often experience positive outcomes.
