Answer:

question 1st permeability of membrane is the ability of the membrane to allow something to get in or out through it

question V the process is evaporation

Explanation:

permeability of the membrane is the ability of it to get something passed through it and evaporation is the process from which we get freshwater from seawater when we operate the sea water it changes into water vapour source TV and the so that and it just remains and evaporated then we can condense it and it gets separated

ANSWER:-

Q)What do you mean by permeability of membrane? Explain with suitable  example.

Ans:- The property of a membrane where it allows passage of only selective substances based on factors like solubility, charge, size, etc.,is known as permeability of a membrane.

✦Example: Cell wall , as it allows water, free ions & substances that are soluble in water.

Q)If the dried vegetables are kept in water they become fresh. What is the  reason?

Ans:- The dried vegetables kept in water become fresh due to endosmosis, where the water present outside the vegetable enters into the cells due to different concentration levels.

Q)Name the process by which we can get fresh water from sea water?

Ans:- Desalination is the process by which we get fresh water from sea water.

Q)Why do the doctors administer saline only, not the distilled water?

Ans:-

✦Doctors administer saline instead of distilled water to maintain isotonicity with fluids in the body.

✦Saline has  0.9% NaCl.Distilled water has no ions .So, it is hypotonic when compared to body fluids.

✦If it is administered instead saline, the cells might swell and burst. Hence, it is not administered to patients.

Q)What will happen if 50% glucose solution is injected intravenously (into vein)?

Ans:-

✦Glucose 50% is used to treat low blood sugar levels.

✦If the person is diabetic,it will restore the sugar level in his body that will cause the patient to inject a large amount of insulin.

✦If it is injected in the normal patient whose blood glucose level is normal, it leads to hyperglycemia which will lead to increase blood pressure and stroke or kidney failure.

Q)What will happen if cells do not have ability of permeability?

Ans:- If cells do not have the ability of permeability, the eventually die as they cant absorb water and nutrients.

Q)What are your observations in experiments to know about diffusion?

Ans:- Observations:-

  • The molecules spread from a highly concentrated region to lowly concentrated region.
  • The particles of gases have very small intermolecular space when they near the incense stick.
  • They have very large intermolecular space as they far from incense stick .
