Explanation:

Friction is the force resisting the relative motion of solid surfaces, fluid layers, and material elements sliding against each other. There are several types of friction: ... Fluid friction describes the friction between layers of a viscous fluid that are moving relative to each other.

There must be some force that stops the motion of an object as a force not only moves an object but also stops it. Well this is where friction comes in

the force that opposes the motion of a body is called friction.

friction comes into effect as soon as something is pushed or pulled. friction is acting on every surface as no surface is perfectly smooth. a surface that appears perfectly smooth has pits and bumps in it that can be seen using a microscope.

Consider two surface in contact with one another. the contact points between them form cold welds. these cold welds prevent a surface from sliding over the other. Adding weight on the upper surface increases pressure thus it also increases resistance. This shows that as the pressing force increases force of friction also increases.

Another thing is that the force of friction depends upon the applied force. it increases with increse in applied force. But force of friction can increase to a certain maximum value. This maximum value is called force of limiting friction (Fs)

. Fs spends upon the reaction R. The ratio between Fs and the normal reaction R is a constant . this constant is called coefficient of friction.
