3. When a stone is dipped in a measuring cylinder filled with water the level of
water rises, but when a spoon of sugar is added to it and stirred the level of water does
not rise. Give reason.

As the stone doesnot dissolve in the water it doesnot mix with the water and doesnot goes inside the gap of the water. So it results in the rise of water. But when we add salt it dissolves in particle level and goes inside the space present in it and level of water doesnot rise.
