Hi ,
24 , 23¼ , 22½ , ...…., 3 is an A.P
First term = a = 24
Common difference = a2 - a1
d = 23¼ - 24
d = -3/4
nth term = an = 3
We know that ,
nth term in A.P( an ) = a + ( n - 1 )d
3 = 24 + ( n - 1 ) (- 3/4 )
3 - 24 = ( n - 1 )(- 3/4 )
-21 = ( n - 1 )( -3/4 )
( -21 ) (- 4/3 ) = n - 1
7 × 4 = n - 1
28 = n - 1
28 - 1 = n
n = 27
Therefore ,
27 th term of given A.P is 3.
I hope this helps you.
