if the question is

3/(x+1) =5/2x

Cross multiply,

3*2x =5(x+1)

6x =5x +5

6x -5x =5

x=5

Here is the answer you were looking for:
 \frac{3}{x + 1}  =  \frac{5}{2x}  \\  \\ on \: cross \: multiplying \: we \: get \\  \\ 3(2x) = 5(x + 1) \\  \\ 6x = 5x + 5 \\  \\ 6x - 5x = 5 \\  \\ 1x = 5 \\  \\ x = 5
