3x-9=8x+4
3x-8x=4+9
-5x=13
x=-13/5

3(x-3) = 4 (2x+1)
=> 3x - 9 = 8x + 4
=> 3x - 8x = 4 + 9
=> -5x = 13
=> -x = 13/5
or
=> x = -13/5
