The area of shaded region is 43.74\ cm^2 .

Given :

Length of diameter of semicircle ( AB ) is 12 cm .

Therefore , radius ( OD ) should be 6 cm .

So , required area, A = Area of parallelogram - half the area of semicircle

A=perpendicular\times base - \dfrac{1}{2}(\dfrac{\pi r^2}{2})\\\\A=12\times 6-\dfrac{1}{4}\times 3.14\times 6^2\\\\A=43.74\ cm^2

So , the area of shaded region is 43.74\ cm^2 .
