Given that,

30x + 60y = 4360

⇒ 3x + 6y = 436 ...(i)

and y = 3x ...(ii)

Putting y = 3x in (i), we get

3x + 6 (3x) = 436

⇒ 3x + 18x = 436

⇒ 21x = 436

⇒ x = 436/21

Putting x = 436/21 in (ii), we get

y = 3 (436/21)

⇒ y = 436/7

∴ the required solution be

x = 436/21 & y = 436/7
