Given :-

A shopkeeper sold two fans for 990 each.

Selling price = 990 each fan .

In first transaction he gains Profit = 10%

In second transaction he gain loss = 10%

Solution : -

In first transaction,

Profit % = S. P - C. P / C.P * 100

Put the required values in the formula,

10 = 990 - C. P / C.P * 100

10/100 = 990 - CP

0.1 CP = 990 - CP

0.1 CP + CP = 990

1.1CP =990

CP = 990/1.1

CP = Rs900

Now, Calculate Loss 10%

Loss% = CP - SP / CP * 100

Put the required value in the formula

10 = CP - 990 / 900 * 100

90 = CP - 990

90 + 990 = CP

CP = 1080

So, Total CP = 900 + 1080 = Rs1980

Total SP = 990 + 990 = Rs1980

Here ,

CP = SP

Therefore,

Shopkeeper didn't gain profit or loss.
