32% of the number= 32x/100
 17% of the number= 17x/100
As per the question, 32% of the no. is greater than 17% of the same no. by 120
⇒(17x/100) + 120 = 32x/100
⇒120= 32x/100 - 17x/100
⇒120 = 15x/100
⇒15x = 120×100=12000
⇒x= 12000/15
     = 800
Hence, the value of the number is 800.
