33] Students in a particular school use glasses which is in the form of a frustum
of a cone of same size to drink milk. The radii of two circular faces of the glass are 5 cm and
7 cm and its height is 9 cm. The total number of students in the school is 100. Each student
is given one glass of milk completely filled. The supplier brings the milk in a cylindrical

Minimum height of the container required to store milk is 81.75 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of the frustum : \frac{\pi h}{3} [(r_1)^2+(r_2)^2+r_1\times r_2]

where,

π  = 3.14

h  = 9 cm

r₁  = 5 cm

r₂  = 7 cm

Volume of the glass :

=  3.14\times \frac{9}{3}[5^2+7^2+5\times 7]

=  9.42[25+49+35]

=  9.42 × 109

=  1026.78 cm³

required number of glasses of milk = 100

total volume of glasses = 1026.78 × 100 = 102678 cm³

Volume of cylindrical container : πr²h

Where, π = 3.14

            r = 40/2 = 20 cm

            h = h

Let the height of the container be h

102678 = 3.14 × 20² × h

102678 = 3.14 × 400 × h

102678 = 1256 h

h = 81.75 cm

minimum height of the container required to store milk is 81.75 cm.
