• Difference between SI and CI for 2 years is :-
• $p \: ( { \frac{r}{100} })^{2}$
• Difference between SI and CI for for 3 years is:-
• $p( \: { \frac{r}{100} })^{2} (3 + \frac{r}{100} )$

$= \frac{difference \: between \: si \: and \: ci \: for \: 3 \: years}{difference \: between \: si \: and \: ci \: for \: 2 \: years }$

$= \frac{p( \frac{r}{100} ) {}^{2} (3 + \frac{r}{100} )}{p( \frac{r}{100} ) {}^{2} }$

$= (3 + \frac{r}{100} )$

$(3 + \frac{r}{100} ) = \frac{31}{10}$

$\frac{300 + r}{100} = \frac{31}{10}$

$10(300 + r) = 31 \times 100$

$3000 + 10r = 3100$

$10r = 3100 - 3000$

$10r = 100$

$r = \frac{100}{10}$
