so, remaining percentage ( children ) = {100-(35+40)} = 25%
so, 25% of total pop are children = 20000.
clearly,1 % = 20000/25 = 800
no of women = 1%(800) * percentage of women = 800*40 = 32000

therefore x = 25
therefore percentage of children is 25%
if 25% of total population is 20000 then total population is 20000 * 100 * 25 which is equal to 80000.
