₹ 3500 is to be shared among three people such that the first person gets 50% of the second, who in turns gets 50% of the third person. how much will each of them get ?

let,  share of ist person =x  share of 2nd person =y  share of 3rd person=z  so, x+y+z =rs. 3500......(i)  now,as per given condition,we can write that,  y= 50% of z = z/2  x= 50% of y = y/2 = (z/2)/2 [putting y= z/2 ]  = z/4  from (i),  z/4 + z/2 +z =rs. 3500  i.e. (z+2z+4z)= rs.4*3500 [multiplying both sides by 4 ]  i.e 7z= rs. 4*3500  i.e. z= rs. (4*3500)/7 =rs. 2000  so, x= z/4 = rs.2000 /4 = rs. 500  and y = z/2 = rs.2000 /2 = rs. 1000

ratio of each person

2 : 4 : 8

= 2x + 4x + 8x = 14x

14x = 3500₹

x = 3500/14 = 250₹

2 × 250 = 500₹

4 × 250 = 1000₹
