Let the middle number be x

we can find the middle number by

using the formula;

a4 - a3= d

18 - 24= -6

thus the difference is: -6

So, a2 - a1= -6

that is, x - 36= -6

x= -6 + 36

So, therefore x= 30

ANSWER: X = 30
