  • Equivalent Resistance between points A and D .

  • See the above pic , to clarify the final circuit diagram of this question .

Here , “FB resistor” and “GC resistor” is removed , because we find the equivalent resistance between points “A” and “D” .

Now see the effective circuit diagram in the above figure .

The resistance of “arm EFH” is ,

  • arm EFH = “resistor EF” + “resistor FH”
  • And these two resistor are connected in series to each other .

  • {(Effective\:Resistance)_1\:=\:10\:ohm\:+\:10\:ohm}
  • \tt{\implies\:(Effective\:Resistance)_1\:=\:20\:ohm}

The resistance of “arm EGH” is,

  • arm EGH = “resistor EG” + “resistor GH”
  • And these two resistor are connected in series to each other .

  • {(Effective\:Resistance)_2\:=\:10\:ohm\:+\:10\:ohm}
  • \tt{\implies\:(Effective\:Resistance)_2\:=\:20\:ohm}

Now , Effective Resistance (1) and (2) or “arm EFH” and “arm EGH” are connected in parallel connection . So the Total effective resistance is,

  • {(Effective\:Resistance)_{total}\:=\:{\dfrac{20\times20}{20+20}}}
  • \tt{\implies\:(Effective\:Resistance)_{total}\:=\:10\:ohm}

Now, “resistor AE” , “resistor HD” and “total effective resistance” are connected in series .

Therefore, the Equivalent Resistance between points “A” and “D” is ,

  • {Equivalent\:Resistance\:=\:10ohm\:+\:10ohm\:+\:10ohm}
  • \tt{\implies\:Equivalent\:Resistance\:=\:30\:Ohm}
