area of horizontal path= 55×2 = 110
area of 2 vertical paths= 35×2+35×2= 140
area of overlapping= 2×2+2×2=8
area for tiles=110+140-8=110+132=242m sq.
cost= 242×65=15730rs

Answer:

Cost of paving the tiles is rs. 15730.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Length of the park , AB = 55 m

Breadth of the park , CB = 35 m

Width of each path = 2 m

Cost of paving the tile = Rs. 65 per m²

To find: Total of paving tiles on the path.

From the figure,

Area of All 3 path = Area of rectangle EFGH + Area of rectangle IJKL

+ Area of Rectangle MNOP - Area of square QRST

                                  - Area of square UVWX

Area of Paths = EF × FG + IJ × JK + MN × NO - QR × QR - UV × UV

                       =  2 × 35 + 2 × 35 + 55 × 2 - 2 × 2 - 2 × 2

                       = 70 + 70 + 110 - 4 - 4

                       = 242 m²

Cost of tiles = 242 × 65 = Rs. 15730

Therefore, Cost of paving the tiles is rs. 15730.
