Answer :

Given, deepness of well (height)= 14 m

Diameter of well = 4 m

Radius of well = Diameter ÷ 2 = 4÷2 = 2 m

As we know that the well is in cylindrical shape.

So to find the cost of digging the well, we have to find its volume.

Volume of well (cylinder) = π × radius^2 × height.

So volume =

\pi \times 2 {}^{2} \times 14 \\ \\ \frac{22}{7} \times 4 \times 14 \\ \\ 22 \times 4 \times 2 \\ \\ 22 \times 8 \\ \\ 176 \: {m}^{3} \\ \\ so \: volume \: of \: well \: = 176 {m}^{3} \\ \\ cost \: of \: digging \: 1 {m}^{3} = rs. \: 1.20 \\ \\ cost \: of \: digging \: 176 {m}^{3} = 176 \times 1.20 = 211.2

So cost of digging the well = ₹ 211.2
