3x +  \frac{1}{5}  = 2 - x \\ 3x + x = 2 -  \frac{1}{5}  \\ 4x =  \frac{10 - 1}{5}  =  \frac{9}{5}  \\ x =  \frac{9}{20}  \\  lhs \:  = 3 \times \frac{9}{20}  +  \frac{1}{5}  =  \frac{27 + 4}{20}  =  \frac{31}{20}  \\ rhs \:  = 2 -  \frac{9}{20}  =  \frac{40 - 9}{20}  =  \frac{31}{20}

Therefore, LHS = RHS

3x+5x=10-1

8x=9

x=9/8

check

3×9/8+1=10-5×9/8

(27+8)÷8=10-45/8

(27+8)/8=(80-45)/8

35/8=35/8
