first we divide throughout with the coefficient of x2
x2-4/3x=4/3
x2-2(2/3)x=4/3
here we add the square of 2/3 both sides
x2-4/3x+4/9=4/3+4/9
(x-2/3)whole square=16/9
taking square root on both sides
x-2/3=+ or - 4/3
so x=+ or - 4/3 + 2/3
so x=2 or x= -2/3
