The question is we have to solve the pairs of simultaneous equations.

The given pair of equations is

3x + 2.6y = 16  -  -  - 1\\ x + 5.2y = 27 -  -  - 2

The above equations are the simultaneous equations

Simultaneous equations are a set of equations or a system of the equation also known as a system equation is a finite set of equation where a common solution is obtained

We can solve the given pair of equations by an elimination method.

Multiply the equation 2 by digit 3.

3x + 15.6y = 81 -  -  -  -  - 3

subtract equation 1 from equation 3 we get

(3x + 15.6y = 81) - (3x + 2.6y = 16) \\ 13y = 65

The value of y can be obtained by the division method.

y =  \frac{65}{13}  = 5

substitute the value of y in equation 1 we get,

x + 5.2(5) = 27 \\

solve by normal mathematical addition and subtraction, we get

 x + 26 = 27 \\

Then the value becomes

x = 27 - 26 = 1

Therefore, the value of x is 1 and y is 5.
