Step-by-step explanation:

(3x+2y)=1/10

30x+20y=1 (1)

(2x+3y)=1/8

16x+24y=1 (2)

Multiply 1 × 6 and 2×5

180x+120y=6 (1)

80x+120y=2 (2)

subtract 1 and 2

x=4/80=1/20

sub x=1/20 in 1

30(1/20)+20y=1

6+40y=1

y=-5/40

y=-1/8

Given :

(3x+2y)=1/10,(2x+3y)=1/8 find the x and y

To find :

Find the value of x and y

Solution :

Solve this equation by elimination method

  • 3x + 2y = 1/10 ---(i)
  • 2x + 3y = 1/8 ----(ii)

Multiply (i) by 2 and (ii) by 3

  • 6x + 4y = 1/5
  • 6x + 9y = 3/8

Subtract both the equation

=> (6x+4y) - (6x+9y) = 1/5 - 3/8

=> 6x + 4y - 6x - 9y = 8 - 15/40

=> - 5y = -7

=> y = 7/5

By substitution method

substitute the value of y in equation (i)

=> 3x + 2y = 1/10

=> 3x + 2 × 7/5 = 1/10

=> 3x + 14/5 = 1/10

=> 3x = 1/10 - 14/5

=> 3x = 1 - 28/10

=> 3x = -27/10

=> x = -27/10 × 3 = -9/10

\large{\boxed{\bf{Required\:value\:of\:x=\frac{-9}{10}}}}

\large{\boxed{\bf{Required\:value\:of\:y=\frac{7}{5}}}}
