Answer:

x=5. y=-2. pls mark as brainliest ans

Step-by-step explanation:

let 3x+2y=11. (1)

let 2x+3y=4. (2)

on adding (1)&(2)

5x+5y=15

5(x+y)=15

x+y=15/5=3. (3)

on subtracting (1)&(2)

x-y=7. (4)

on adding (3)&(4)

x+x+y-y=3+7

2x=10

x=10/2

x=5

put x=5 in (4)

5-y=7

-y=7-5

-y=2

y= -2

Given :

3x+2y=11;2x+3y=4

solve by elimination method

To find :

Find the value of x and y

Solution :

  • 3x + 2y = 11 ---(i)
  • 2x + 3y = 4 ---(ii)

Multiply (i) by 2 and (ii) by 3

Multiply (i) by 2 and (ii) by 3so, the equation becomes

  • 6x + 4y = 22
  • 6x + 9y = 12

Subtract both the equation

=> (6x + 4y) - (6x + 9y) = 22 - 12

=> 6x + 4y - 6x - 9y = 10

=> - 5y = 10

=> y = -10/5 = -2

By substitution method

By substitution methodsubstitute the value of y in equation (ii)

=> 2x + 3y = 4

=> 2x + 3 × (-2) = 4

=> 2x - 6 = 4

=> 2x = 6 + 4

=> 2x = 10

=> x = 10/2 = 5

{\boxed{\bf{Required\:value\:of\:x=5}}}

{\boxed{\bf{Required\:value\:of\:y=-2}}}

Verification :

Putting both the value of x and y

  • 3x + 2y = 11

LHS

= 3x + 2y

= 3 × 5 + 2 × (-2)

= 15 - 4

= 11 = RHS verified

  • 2x + 3y = 4

LHS

= 2x + 3y

= 2 × 5 + 3 × (-2)

= 10 - 6

= 4 = RHS verified

Hence, both the equation are verified
