x = 5 , y = 6

Step-by-step explanation:

3x - 2y = 3 (1)

2x+ y=16 (2)

from eqn 2 we get

y = 16 - 2x (3)

from eqn 1 we get

3x - 2(16 - 2x ) = 3

3x - 32 + 4x = 3

7x = 3 + 32

7x = 35

x= 35÷7

x= 5

from eqn 3 we get

y = 16 - 2(5)

= 16 - 10

= 4
