Solution :

The given equations are

3x - 2y = 6 .....(i)

2x + 3y = 61 .....(ii)

From (i), we get

3x = 2y + 6

⇒ x = (2y + 6)/3 .....(iii)

Substituting x = (2y + 6)/3 in (ii), we get

2 (2y + 6)/3 + 3y = 61

⇒ (4y + 12 + 9y)/3= 61

⇒ 13y + 12 = 3 * 61

⇒ 13y = 183 - 12 = 171

⇒ y = 171/13

Putting y = 171/13 in (iii), we get

x = {2 (171/13) + 6}/3

⇒ x = {(342/13) + 6}/3

⇒ x = {(342 + 78)/13}/3

⇒ x = 420/(13 * 3)

⇒ x = 140/13

Therefore, the required solution is

x = 140/13 & y = 171/13
