3x+4y=5

x-6y=9....×3

3x-18y=27

3x+4y=5

-22y=22

=> y= 22/-22= -1

putting the value of y= -1 in the 1st equation

3x+4(-1)=5

=> 3x-4=5

=> 3x=5+4=9

=> x=9/3=3

so, x=3

y= -1
