from (ii) equation
y=8-2x ---- (iii)
now put the value of y in equation (i)
3x-y=2
3x-8-2x=2
3x-2x=8+2
[x=10 ]
Now put the value of x in equation (iii) to gind the value of y
Hence,.
y=8-2x
y=8-2(10)
y=8-20
[y= -12]
y= -12
x=10
