( 3 x -y = 7)*3

=> 9 x - 3 y= 21--------(equation 1)

2x+ 3y=1--------(equation 2)

on adding both the equation,

11x = 22

x=2

3x- y = 21

3*2 - y = 21

y = 21 - 6

= 18

x+y

=2+ 18

= 20
