STEP-1 : To obtain the first term of the quotient, divide the highest degree term of dividend (i.e., 3x^3) by the highest degree term of divisor (i.e.,x). This is 3x^2. Then carry out the division process. What remains is 16x^2-10x.

STEP-2 : Now, obtain the second term of the quotient, divide the highest degree term of the new dividend(i.e.,16x^2)by the highest degree term of the divisor(i.e.,x). This gives 16x. Again carry out the division process with 16x^2-10x.

STEP-3 : What remains is 38x+3. To obtain the third term of quotient, divide the highest degree term of the new dividend (i.e.,38x) by the highest degree term of the divisor (i.e.,x). This gives 38. Carry out the division process with 38x+3.

STEP-4 : What remains is 117. Now, the degree of 117 is less than the degree of the divisor x-3. So, we cannot continue the division any further.
