=> ax² + bx + c

> By splitting the middle term

=> 3x² - 11x - 4

=> 3x² - 12x + x - 4

=> 3x ( x - 4 ) + 1 ( x - 4 )

=> ( x - 4 ) ( 3x - 1 ) ANS

or

=> x = 4 or x = 1/3 ANS
