Step-by-step explanation:

Solution:-

3y  =  x - 2..........(1)

And,

2x + 5y = 15.........(2)

NOW,

chose Equation (1)

3y = x - 2

 =  > y =  \frac{x - 2}{3} .........(3)

Puting y value in Equation ( 2)

2x + 5y = 15

 =  > 2x + 5 \times  \frac{x - 2}{3}  = 15

 =  > 2x +  \frac{5x - 10}{3}  = 15

 =  >   \frac{6x + 5x - 10}{3}  = 15

 =  > 11x - 10 = 45

 =  > 11x = 45 + 10

 =  > x =  \frac{55}{11}

 =  > x = 5

Puting x value in Equation (3)

y =  \frac{x - 2}{3}

 =  > y =  \frac{5 - 2}{3}

 =  > y =  \frac{3}{3}

 =  > y = 1

so, we find

x = 5

y= 1
