Amoeba acquires its food through the process of endocytosis also known as phagocytosis.

In Detail extra information : Endocytosis is the process in which amoeba engulf the food through invaginations called pseudopodia (pseudopodia means false feet, pseudo - false & podia - feet) and eventually forming vesicle around it which is then digested by the enzymes present in it.
