\huge{\underline{\underline{\bf{\purple{Question}}}}}

  • 4(2y-3)+3(3y-4) = 14

\huge{\underline{\underline{\bf{\purple{To\:find}}}}}

  • Find the value of y and also check it

\huge{\underline{\underline{\bf{\purple{Solution}}}}}

\implies\sf 4(2y-3)+3(3y-4)=14

\implies\sf 8y-12+9y-12=14

\implies\sf 17y-24=14

\implies\sf 17y=14+24

\implies\sf 17y=38

\implies\sf y=\frac{38}{17}

\huge{\underline{\underline{\bf{\purple{Verification}}}}}

We can check the Solution for the equation 4(2y-3)+3(3y-4) = 14

LHS = 4(2y-3)+3(3y-4)

RHS = 14

\implies\sf 4(2y-3)+3(3y-4)

\implies\sf 8y-12+9y-12

\implies\sf 17y-24

\implies\sf 17×\frac{38}{17}-24

\implies\sf 38-24=14

LHS = RHS for the value y = 38/17

We get,

=> 4(2y - 3) + 3(3y - 4) = 14 \\  \\=> 8y - 12 + 9y - 12 = 14 \\  \\=>  8y + 9y - 12 - 12 = 14 \\   \\=> 17y - 24 = 14 \\  \\=>17 y = 14 + 24 \\  \\=> y =  \frac{38}{17}

Verification :-

Put the value of y = 38/17 in above equation

We get,

=>4(2y - 3) + 3(3y - 4) = 14 \\  \\ </u></em><em><u>=</u></em><em><u>&gt;</u></em><em><u>8y - 12 </u></em><em><u>+ 9y - 12 = 14 \\  \\ </u></em><em><u>=</u></em><em><u>&gt;</u></em><em><u>17y = 14 + 24 \\  \\</u></em><em><u>=</u></em><em><u>&gt;</u></em><em><u> 17 \times  \frac{38}{17}  = 38 \\  \\ </u></em><em><u>=</u></em><em><u>&gt;</u></em><em><u>38 = 38
