\sf\underline{Step-by-step \: explanation}

First we have to make them equal. So,

L.C.M of 5 and 9 = 45

\dfrac{-4}{5} = \dfrac{-4×9}{9×5}

= \dfrac{-36}{45}

\dfrac{-7}{9} = \dfrac{-7×5}{9×5}

= \dfrac{-35}{45}

\dfrac{-36}{45}<\dfrac{-35}{45}

Hence, the bigger one is,

\dfrac{-7}{9}
