Question

. A rectangular garden has a length of 3 3/5 m and a width of 2 1/2m, What is the area of the garden?

Solution

Given :-

  • Length of rectangular garden = 33/5 m
  • Width of rectangular garden = 21/2 m

Find :-

  • Area of rectangular garden

Explanation

Using Formula

Area of rectangular garden = Length × Width

Here, ABCD is a rectangular garden ,

So, Now Calculate it's Area

Keep Above Values

==> Area of rectangular garden = 33/5 × 21/2

==> Area of rectangular garden = (33 × 21)/(5 ×2)

==> Area of rectangular garden = 693/10

Or,

==> Area of rectangular garden = 69.3 m²

Hence

  • Area of rectangular garden will be = 69.3 m²

Finding area of the rectangular garden by using formula —

 \quad \fbox{  \red{\sf{Area  \:  of \:  a \:  rectangle = length  \times  width}}}

 \longrightarrow \:  \sf{ \dfrac{18}{ \cancel{5}}  \times  \dfrac{ \cancel{5}}{2} } \\  \\  \longrightarrow \:   \sf{\dfrac{18}{2} } \\  \\ \longrightarrow \: \blue{   \sf{9 \:  {m}^{2} }}

So, the area of the rectangular garden is 9 m ² .
