4) A train travelling at 20 m s-1 accelerates at 0.5 m s-2 for 30 s. How far will it travel in this time?

Answer:

u = 20 m/s

a = 0.5 m/s²

t = 30 sec

From 2nd equation,

s = ut +(1/2) at²

= 20×30 + (1/2)×0.5×(30)²

= 825 m.
