The capacity of cylinder is more if it is rolled along the length= 2772 cm³

Step-by-step explanation:

let the radius be r

rectangular sheet of paper 44 cm * 18 cm given

(1) if it is rolled  along the length

then height of the cylinder = 18 cm

circumference = 44 cm

2\pi r = 44

2\times \frac{22}{7} \times r = 44

on solving r = 7 cm

then volume of the cylinder = \pi r^2h

= \frac{22}{7} \times 7\times 7 \times 18

= 2772 cm³

(2) if it is rolled along its breadth

then height = 44 cm

circumference = 18 cm

2\pi r = 18

2\times \frac{22}{7} \times r = 18

r= 2.86 cm

volume of cylinder = \pi r^2h

= \frac{22}{7} \times 2.86\times 2.86 \times 44

= 1131.12 cm³

the capacity of cylinder is more if it is rolled along the length

hence,

The capacity of cylinder is more if it is rolled along the length
