4. a) Isotopes have same atomic number even though different atomic masses and in periodic table we have arranged elements according to increasing atomic numbers and not atomic masses so all isotopes are located in the same place as the elements.

b)According to modern periodic law, elements are arranged in the order of increasing atomic numbers.... In this way, the positions of cobalt and nickel were resolved in the modern periodic table.
