Xylem transports water and soluble mineral nutrients from roots to various parts of the plant. It is responsible for replacing water lost through transpiration and photosynthesis. Phloem translocates sugars made by photosynthetic areas of plants to storage organs like roots, tubers or bulbs.

Meristematic tissue is a type of tissue which is found in the actively dividing zone of the plant and it is responsible for causing growth of the plant. While dermal tissue is a single layer tissue which cover the part of the plant mainly and act as a cover for the plant body. It is similar to skin in animals.
