Construction:

draw a line bc=5 cm then construct an angle of 60 degree in both side of the line.

these 2 rays meet in a point which is 'A'

Why:

isosceles triangle has 2 sides equal and angles opposite to it are also equal. (60 degrees each side)

To find the 3rd side:

after constructing the triangle measure the line AC or AB (they both are equal)
