breadth= 4 cm
height = 4cm

after joining the cubes , it will form cuboid

surface area of cuboid = 2(lb + bh+ lh)
= 2(16*4+4*4+16*4)
= 2(64+16+64)
= 2(144)
= 288 cm ^2

• Then,

• Then,
Length of cuboid = sum of lengths of cubes = 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 = 16 cm

Breadth of the cuboid = 4 cm

Height of cuboid = 4 cm


♦ Now,

Surface area of a cuboid = 2 (lb + bh + hl)


♦ Then, Surface area of resulting cuboid,

= 2 (lb + bh + hl)

= 2 [(16 × 4) + (4 × 4) + (4 × 16)]

= 2(64 + 16 + 64)

= 2(144)

= 288 cm².
