Answer:

We know that D = b^2 - 4 * a * c

= (4root3)^2 - 4 * 4 * 3

= 16 * 3 - 48

= 48 - 48

= 0

So, given quadratic equation has equal real roots.

Given quadratic equation :-

4x² + 7x + 2 = 0

On comparing this equation with the general form i.e,

ax² + bx + c = 0

We get the values as,

a = 4, b = 7, c = 2

Discriminant, D = - 4ac

Δ = - 4 (4)(2)

Δ = 49 - 32

Δ = 17

° the roots of the quadratic equation 4x² + 7x + 2 = 0 are real and unequal.

Note:-

Discriminant is denoted by Δ
