CH4 + 2O2 -> CO2 + 2H2O

Mole = mass/ molar mass

Molar mass of CH4 = 12+ 4 = 16 g

Mole of CH4 = 4/16 = 1/4 mole

1 mole of CH4 gives 1 mole of CO2

1/4 mole of CH4 gives 1/4 mole of CO2

Mole = volume /22.4

Mole×22.4 = volume

1/4 ×22.4 = volume

22.4 / 4 = volume

5.6 l = Volume

Therefore volume of CO2 obtained at STP is 5.6 litre
