4. Give a chemical test to distinguish between the following pairs of compounds:

(i) Sodium chloride solution and sodium nitrate solution.

(ii) Hydrogen chloride gas and hydrogen sulphide gas.

(iii) Ethene gas and ethane gas

(iv) Calcium nitrate solution and zinc nitrate solution.

(v) Carbon dioxide gas and sulphur dioxide gas

(i). for testing sodium chloride solution : if you put Litmus Paper in the solution of sodium chloride then it is purple in colour that is neutral.
for testing sodium nitrate solution: if we put Litmus Paper in it the colour of paper will change to red that is the solution is acidic in nature.
