Situation in which velocity of an object is constant and the object is in motion.

Situation in which the velocity of the object is changing and the object is in motion.

Examples:

1st case:

Let us consider that a block is moving on a friction-less floor with a constant speed along the X axis.

So, the object is in motion and moving with a constant velocity.

The velocity vs time graph for this object will be parallel to the time axis.

Case 2:

Let us consider a situation such that you throw a ball vertically upwards in air.

The initial velocity of the ball will be directed upwards , but the gravitational acceleration will be directed downwards (towards earth surface).

So, the velocity of the ball will continuously decrease and hence change.

So, the object is in motion but its velocity is continuously changing.
