Answer:

a) As it prevents the cold winds coming from Central Asia and also prevents the monsoon winds to leave India.

b) The silt which is brought down by the Ganga river valley making soil fertile. Due to increased fertility, agriculture is possible in which people settle down in these areas. Hence,Northern Plains are densely populated.

c) Due to the deposition of black alluvial soil in Deccan regions. Many metals like iron ore, silica and magnesium are found in abundance.
