Explanation:
Civil Rebellions and Tribal Uprisings The backbone of the rebellions, their mass base and striking power came from the rack-rented peasants, ruined artisans and demobilized soldiers CAUSES The major cause of the civil rebellions was the rapid changes the British introduced in the economy, administration and land revenue system. The revenues were enhanced by increasing taxes. Thousands of zamindars and poligars lost control over their land and its revenue either due to the extinction of their rights by the colonial state or by the forced sale of their rights over land because of their inability to meet the exorbitant land revenue demanded.

The Khond Revolt led to a mutiny among the tribals.
- Between Orissa, the Khond Uprising occurred in 1846 to 1855. Chakra Bisoi served as the head of the Khond people.
- The Orissan Khonds were instrumental in organising the 1857 uprising against the British Empire.
- Tribal people including, China ki Medi, Ghumsar,Kalahandi, and even Patna participated in their uprising.
- A young Raja named Chakra Bisnoi spearheaded the effort.
- here were many reasons for the uprising, including the British Government's decision to end the Mariah Scheme (Traditional Human Sacrifice Exercised by the Khonds), the British Government's imposition of new taxes, and the concentration of zamindars and moneylenders into the tribal regions, which had been starting to cause the people there unimaginable suffering.
